FAQ’s

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How much does chiropractic care cost?
Your initial consultation and exam is $120. This visit includes a full discussion of your health goals, a thorough chiropractic exam, and time to answer your questions. Regular spinal adjustments are $50 for all ages.

2. How long will my appointments take?
Your first visit takes about 20–30 minutes so we can learn about your health history and perform a full exam. Regular spinal check-ups usually take about 10 minutes, making it easy to fit into your schedule.

3. What is the goal of chiropractic care?
Our goal is to correct vertebral subluxations—misalignments of the spine that interfere with nerve function and brain–body communication. When we remove this interference through gentle, specific adjustments, your body can function closer to its full health potential.

4. What is an adjustment?
An adjustment is a precise, gentle application of force to help your body correct a vertebral subluxation. We use proven techniques such as Diversified and Thompson, customizing each adjustment to your age, spinal pattern, lifestyle, and health goals.

5. Is chiropractic care safe?
Yes. Chiropractic is one of the safest forms of health care, especially with my refined approach. The biggest fear perpetuated is the risk of stroke. Put into perspective, the risk of a stroke after an adjustment is extremely rare—about 0.00025%, which by comparison, is much much lower than something like taking an aspirin (0.04%). I’ll emphasis, I use techniques appropriate for your body, age, and health status.

6. What happens at my first visit?
We’ll talk about your health goals, review your history, and perform a thorough chiropractic exam to understand your spinal and nervous system health. We’ll determine if you’re in the right place to get the care you need and outline your personalized care plan.

7. What is a care plan and why is it important?
Healing takes time and consistency. Your care plan is tailored to your unique needs and goals. Just like skipping workouts slows your fitness progress, missing visits can delay your results. Regular, consistent adjustments help you achieve and maintain better function and health.

8. Do you care for children and pregnant women?
Yes! Chiropractic is safe and gentle for all ages. For babies, adjustments use only sustained, light contact—about the pressure used to check a ripe tomato. For pregnancy, we use specialized techniques to reduce tension, create more space for your baby, and support an easier birth.

9. Do I need to have symptoms to see a chiropractor?
No. Health is more than the absence of symptoms—it’s optimal physical, mental, and social wellbeing. Many people choose chiropractic care proactively to maintain nervous system function, prevent issues, and enjoy better overall health.

10. How experienced is Dr. Kara?
Dr. Kara has been in practice since 2008 and has trained with some of the best chiropractors in the world. She continues to refine her skills to better serve the Barrie and Horseshoe Valley communities with authentic, personalized care.
